Iced Coffee Protein Shake
One of my FAVORITE things to do, when I get off work on Fridays at noon, is to grab a COFFEE HIGH PROTEIN (VANILLA) SMOOTHIE from Smoothie King. The drink includes cold brew coffee, non-fat milk, protein powder, almonds, and is sweetened with dates. The smallest size, 20oz, holds 400 calories,12g fat, 44g carbs, and 30g protein. It’s perfectly perfect. Delicious.
BUT, as usual, I also like to have a recipe on hand that I can make myself with good ingredients. Thus, my ICED COFFEE PROTEIN SHAKE. The ingredients are easily adjustable to accommodate various dietary needs.
The original recipe called for banana, but honestly, I don’t want banana any where near my cold brew coffee so I leave that out.
Ingredients:
8oz cold brew coffee (I make my own and you can purchase the cold brew system I use here on Amazon)
8oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 scoop protein powder (I used this today)
2 cups ice
*sweetener of choice (a frozen banana or frozen dates would work fine, but I think the protein powder is sweet enough)
Blend until creamy!
My version this morning included no extra sweetener, and chocolate protein powder.
Nutrition Stats on the 20oz in my cup:
Cals 120, fat 3.5g, Carbs 4g, protein 17g
Make your own and let me know how it turns out. Do you fancy yours up from my very paired down version? Do you dare add the banana? Would love to hear!
Blessings,
Shanna
